Soraya has been a full time artist since the early 90’s. She is a regular contributor to The Artist magazine and has published two books with Harper Collins. When not teaching she paints in her studio at Weyhill in Hampshire.
She enjoys playing with colour and finds interaction with her students a very rewarding and fulfilling aspect of her work. She enjoys all painting media but finds mixed media the most exciting way of working. Soraya sees working in mixed media as the most liberating form of expression.
Through a series of daily demonstrations, students will be guided and encouraged to explore the endless possibilities of combining acrylics, pastels, collage and texture products in their chosen subject matters.
This is mainly a studio based course and students should bring a variety of their favourite reference materials, such as sketches or (preferably own) photographic references to work from. Composition, colour mixing and other aspects of making a successful painting will also be touched upon.
