Judy Linnell has a degree in Fine Art and a postgraduate certificate in art education. She has painted all her life and taught for the past thirty years running workshops, contributing to books on watercolour and tutoring painting holidays in Corsica and Crete. She exhibits her work in London with the RI at the Mall Galleries, the RWS at Bankside and the Linda Blackstone Gallery and in Pembrokeshire at the West Wales Arts Centre. She has had several solo and group exhibitions over many years.

Judy loves to paint wild and atmospheric places near her home in Wales and also in Yorkshire, the Lake District and Scotland. She likes to interpret and suggest, rather than describe, in order to convey the magic and mystery of a place. She loves the vibrancy and fluidity of watercolour and likes to exploit its unique qualities to the full, taking risks, experimenting and using all kinds of mark making to express herself. Her approach is spontaneous, intuitive, painterly and loose.
She hopes to help each student individually and to develop their confidence to express themselves freely. She tries to stimulate their imagination and creativity in order to discover their unique personal style.
