Caroline Bailey left a teaching career in 1980 to concentrate on fulltime painting in watercolour. She has exhibited widely and had many major solo exhibitions. She was made a member of the Scottish Watercolour Society in 1998
Caroline’s work is easily recognisable and is a visual feast for the eye. She likes to work in mixed media, exploring ways to create layers of texture and colour, concerning herself as much with the atmosphere and feel of a subject as with the look.
She will use subjects from the local inspiring landscape but still life and flowers will be available as alternatives if the weather is poor.
Caroline will bring finished work and boards at various stages of preparation to illustrate her method of working. You will be encouraged to explore and expand your perception and use of colour, to be bold and to ‘free up’ methods and approach. |
