Tues/Wed/Thursday 22/23/24th June
Fee: £220.00
Tutor: Antonia Black

Antonia studied at the National Art School, Sydney before moving to the Slade in London in the early sixties. She is a professional artist who has achieved a top three placing in 2001, 2003 and 2006 in the Singer & Friedlander Sunday Times Competition.  Since 1966 she has been teaching art in the UK and currently tutors at West Dean College.

Antonia is first and foremost a colourist.  She always paints directly from life and works by combining brilliant and non-naturalistic colours with vigorous expressive brush work. Her work is intuitive and non systematic and greatly influenced by Matisse, Kandinsky, Derrain and Vlaminck.

The course is for students of all abilities who wish to be enthused by Antonia’s love of the medium and to be expressive with the use of colour. Painting will be from both landscape and still life.
